Terms of Use

What this service is, what it isn't, and how this website works — in plain words.

01

What Soft Landing is

Soft Landing is run by Carolina Araya, a sole trader (ABN 95 513 621 662) based in Sydney, offering end-of-life companionship, animal end-of-life support, remembrance work and grief support.

I am an End-of-Life Doula. I offer emotional, practical and spiritual support — the human kind. I work alongside doctors, nurses, palliative care teams and vets, never instead of them.

02

What Soft Landing is not

I am not a doctor, nurse, psychologist, counsellor, veterinarian or lawyer, and nothing on this website or in my services is medical, psychological, veterinary, legal or financial advice.

Nothing here should replace the guidance of your treating health or veterinary professionals. Always speak with them about decisions concerning health, medication or treatment.

Soft Landing is not a crisis service. If you or someone you love is in immediate danger, call 000. If you're struggling, call Lifeline on 13 11 14 (24 hours) or Griefline on 1300 845 745.

03

The guides and Letters

The downloadable guides and the Letters essays are general information and gentle companionship, written from my experience. They are not instructions for any particular situation, and they aren't a substitute for professional advice about yours.

You're welcome to share the guides with someone who needs them. Please don't republish or sell them, and please keep the Soft Landing name with them.

04

Bookings

Free conversations are booked through this website and held at the time you choose, Sydney time. If life gets in the way, you can change or cancel by replying to any of the booking emails — no trouble at all.

If I ever need to reschedule, I'll contact you as soon as I can and we'll find another time that suits.

05

Using this website

Please use this site kindly and lawfully. The words, images and design here belong to Soft Landing — you're welcome to share links, but not to copy the site or use its content commercially without asking.

I do my best to keep the website available and accurate, but I can't promise it will always be uninterrupted or error-free, and I'm not liable for any loss that comes from using it.

Sometimes I link to other websites, like crisis lines or community organisations. I'm not responsible for their content.

06

Your privacy

Anything you share with me through this website is handled under the Privacy Policy, which you can read any time from the link in the footer.

07

Changes

I may update these terms from time to time. The latest version will always be here, with the date it was last updated. If anything is ever unclear, please just ask.

if any of this feels heavy, skip it — and just come talk to me instead x

Soft Landing isn't a crisis service. If you're struggling, call Lifeline on 13 11 14 (24 hours), Griefline on 1300 845 745, or 000 in an emergency.

Letters from Soft Landing

Occasional reflections, resources and small rituals for living, loving and saying goodbye.

I acknowledge Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the First Australians and Traditional Custodians. The land where I live and work is Darug Country — sovereignty was never ceded. I pay my respects to Elders past, present and emerging, and to all First Nations people who carry their own grief and loss.
